Dr. Coughlin joined the faculty of the Johns Hopkins Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in 2012. She directs both the Johns Hopkins Young Adult Affective Disorders Inpatient Unit and Outpatient Consultation Clinic. Her research uses positron emission tomography and largely focuses on imaging markers relevant to the role of neuroimmunity in shaping neurologic and psychiatric conditions. Ultimately, these imaging data may inform new therapeutic strategies to promote brain health. Her work has been published in JAMA Neurology, Translational Psychiatry and Molecular Psychiatry and is funded by the National Institutes of Health.
