I have broad research interests in animal and cell culture models of neurodevelopment and trauma. Current research in my laboratory focuses on two topic areas: one, the identification immune and glial cell subpopulations responsible for the etiology and pathobiology of traumatic brain injury (TBI); two, the use of induced pluripotent stem cells and CRISPR/Cas9 editing to model neurological disorders in human cellular systems and to use these in vitro tools to identify neuro-modulatory agents for therapeutic development.
