Adam Bartsch, PhD, PE, Prevent Biometrics: Dr. Bartsch is the Chief Science Officer at Prevent Biometrics, a Cleveland Clinic spin-out company based in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Bartsch has spent the past 15 years conducting research and developing high quality instrumentation to monitor head impacts in athletes and soldiers. During his eleven years at Cleveland Clinic (2006-2017) he invented and led development of the "Intelligent Mouthguard" technology, licensed to Prevent Biometrics in 2015. Dr. Bartsch is a co-chairman of the National Institutes of Health biomechanical devices Common Data Elements (CDEs) committee, an adjunct Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University, and a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio. He has thirty (30) peer reviewed publications in a variety of engineering and medical journals, is a reviewer for a dozen scientific journals and holds thirty-six (36) patents worldwide with a dozen more pending applications. Dr. Bartsch has received over $7 million in competitive research funding as Principal Investigator from National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense (DOD), Department of Transportation (DOT), Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) and the National Football League (NFL).
